    10/06/06

Well we've been off all week and what a lovely week to have off. Apart from the hayfever of course! Let's see, what did we get up to...

Monday we did a bit of shopping, Tuesday I got the GPZ chain guard welded, Wednesday we went to Hayling Island for a day out. I went pillion as my eyes were still too sore to think about putting my contacts in. I don't mind pillion too much on the Zephyr as its quite a relaxed position, I just have to remind myself at times not to try to ride the bike from behind. Thursday some more shopping etc, Friday another day out pillion, this time to Camber sands and Dungness.

Today we've been to Box and went for a ride with another lady rider who's only been riding a fairly short time so it was a fairly gentle pace down to Petersfield via Goodwood where we stopped to watch the horse racing.

Last day tomorrow then nose back to the grindstone once again...

At long last the weather is starting to look like something approaching summer. This brings its own problems for me - Hayfever. Woke up this morning and could barely see out of my poor puffy eyes. I must admit I don't do that well in heat - I get terribly grumpy and irritable, but I do like to see blue skies and bright days - usually from the safe indoors! I spent quite a bit of time in the sun yesterday in the garden and we had a BBQ as well.

Was a bit hung over yesterday as we were watching a DVD with a bottle of wine on Fri night when Clive popped over to see if we were up for a pint. Had a few in our local - The Royal Oak and stumbled back by the light of the moon. Still managed to pop over to Beakys yesterday  - he can do that welding for me on Tuesday and went down to Box for a bacon butty.

The baffle on the GPZ is starting to whistle a bit - sounds a bit like a bird stuck in the exhaust. my plan is to get J&B Classics to build me a new exhaust out of the existing downpipes and the end can I got stuck with off ebay that is actually from a GPZ550. Didn't think there was much of a rush as the MOT isn't due until winter but its a bit noisy so will hopefully get on with that within the next month.
